Power Conditioners
So now that you’ve bought a great audio video system from Premiere Home Entertainment, don’t take the risk that your investment may be damaged by a power surge. The use of power line conditioners and surge suppressors surely represent an effective insurance policy for your expensive home theater gear. Yet, there is more to power protection. In particular, the use of an appropriate active power conditioner in your home theater will bring added benefits to your overall system performance.
Everyday, the need for advanced power management solutions is becoming more and more apparent. Today’s A/V technologies are more sophisticated than ever, but the AC grid that powers our equipment is increasingly overtaxed, antiquated, and dilapidated. AC problems that went unnoticed fifty or sixty years ago, when our power system was put in place, can now cause performance issues, reduced reliability, and damage to sensitive components. AC voltage is often reduced so that it can be stretched to fulfill excess demand. This creates a substantial negative impact on your system’s performance. Power amplifiers and powered sub-woofers cannot perform to their full potential. Even a relatively modest reduction in AC voltage can obliterate the sonic impact of an otherwise superior system. Low voltage can also burn out a component’s power supply, as the internal power supply must work harder to make up for the lack of incoming voltage. Just as problematic are excessively high line voltages. Excess voltage can overheat sensitive circuits, lower the life and reliability of projector lamps and cause many circuits to shut down.
Having a good power conditioner connected to your gear does several things. For one, it cleans up your equipment giving you a single source to connect all of the AC power for your gear. More importantly, it gives you something between your AV equipment and the wall, so that if you ever encounter lightning or any other power surge event, something other than that new LCD or Plasma display can take the hit. Power conditioners also deliver power protection as well as rudimentary filtering of AC line noise (like the kind caused by vacuum cleaners, florescent lighting, light switches and similar products). Its power cleaning and linear filtration eliminates common symptoms of contaminated power like pops, hisses and hums allowing you’re A/V equipment to perform at its full capacity.
Premiere Home Entertainment is proud to offer Furman as our power conditioner line. Furman provides unique qualities that surpass other conditioners; the Power Factor technology which improves your amp load, linear filter technology provides stunning audio and video, multi-stage protection which chamberizes any dirty power so it won’t filter through and damage your system and more importantly, it will not damage the conditioner. AC regenerating takes in the existing power cleans it up and sends it out as clean and consistent 120 volts. They also offer a line of power strips for your smaller systems.
BlueBolt Remote Power and Energy Management technology provides secure cloud-based control of compatible Furman products. With BlueBolt, custom electronics installers, integrators and end users can remotely monitor and control power to electronic equipment by accessing their power management components from anywhere in the world. From simple system reboots to comprehensive monitoring of power status, BlueBolt provides the power to control complex A/V systems from their most fundamental level – their power source. Cutoff all current components; systems can also be remotely programmed to shut off at certain times of the day or remotely shut off components that were inadvertently left on.
